West Ham United manager Graham Potter can’t call upon Michail Antonio or Niclas Füllkrug as the duo are currently injured.

The Germany international is expected to return in March while his teammate is set for a long spell on the sidelines. The situation has seen the Hammers look for a new striker in the winter market.

West Ham have been linked to numerous strikers and PSV Eindhoven star Ricardo Pepi is also included in their list.

Eindhovens Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report West Ham’s interest in the 22-year-old.

The Premier League side have made a bid of €25m for the American striker and PSV find it ‘hopeless’. The journalist claims the Dutch club want a ‘top price’ to consider letting the star leave in this window.

Elfrink makes no mention of the Eredivisie side’s demands, but it sounds like it’s clearly much more than the €25m offered by West Ham.

Pepi managed 18 goals and three assists from 29 games this season. The ED reporter says that last week, the American expressed his desire to renew his contract until 2030.  He hasn’t signed an extension and is waiting for this transfer window to close.

Taking Pep’s performances and intention to renew the contract into account, West Ham will find it difficult to sign him without a much more tempting offer.
