Even though West Ham United seem to have been the first club to bid for Corinthians youngster Wesley, they’re now expected to have some big competition for his signing.
A fresh report from Goal Brasil claims that Atlético Madrid are also interested in the 19-year-old, and ready to join the battle for his signing.
The Colchoneros apparently do not have Wesley as a priority, though, as their bid is still to be placed, and that could be good news for West Ham.
While journalist Jorge Nicola covered the Hammers’ attempt this week, he pointed out that their latest €18m bid should be turned down because of Corinthians’ expectation to make more money.
The reporter said the Brazilian side are expecting a €25m offer from a German club, and will reject smaller offers until that one arrives.
This information is now backed up by Gazeta Esportiva, who point out that Corinthians will continue waiting for such an offer.
It’s now sounding clearer that West Ham need to put more money on the table, though, and we shall see how far they get.
