West Ham United are yet to push forward with a proposal for Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet, even if the Catalans would walk him to London.
That’s according to Sport, who cover the defender today and how Barcelona are still struggling to convince anyone to take him off of their hands.
The newspaper explains that while Barcelona re taking steps to get rid of players they don’t want, including Lenglet, they’re yet to find a serious suitor for the centre-back.
They would be willing to let him leave on a free transfer if he stays in Europe, but nobody has bitten and now they’re exploring loan deals.
That’s despite the fact Barcelona are pretty much presenting him on a plate and making it a priority to get rid of him this summer.
They may want to move sooner rather than later as Napoli and Antonio Conte, who had the player on loan at Tottenham are now showing an interest and Barcelona are pursuing that potential avenue.
Their hope is to secure a loan with a mandatory purchase option for next summer if he does leave on loan and not on a free transfer.
Perhaps the Italian interest will now spark West Ham into action, with them yet to be convinced since showing an interest early this summer.
