West Ham United are ‘very interested’ in a move for Ukraine striker Roman Yaremchuk as he continues to impress at the European Championship.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say the Hammers are ‘not afraid’ of Gent’s €25-30m asking price.

Yaremchuk has been impressing at the Euros so far, with a goal and an assist in his first two games at the tournament.

That’s continued a fine season for the 25-year-old, who managed 17 goals and six assists in 28 games in the Jupiler Pro League this year.

Those numbers have made him of the ‘hottest names’ on the transfer market, and Lazio, Roma, and Wolfsburg are all keen on him. Indeed, the German club have made a first offer but paused to reflect after learning Gent’s demands.

They want between €25-30m for the striker, and while that’s scaring off other suitors, West Ham are not as concerned.

They have been looking for a new striker since allowing Sebastien Haller to join Ajax in January and are ‘not afraid’ of paying out for the Ukrainian.

There’s no mention of West Ham making a move as yet or anything of that nature, but the interest is there nonetheless, and it seems they’re more than willing to pay for him too.
