West Ham United star Lucas Paquetá may be in trouble with the current investigation regarding gambling, but the player’s entourage seems to be very calm about it.
That’s the stance shown by Brazilian outlet UOL, who feature a story which is mostly based on the feelings of people around the midfielder.
First of all, it’s claimed that West Ham have ‘no plans’ to sideline Paquetá during the investigations.
Then it’s claimed that people around the player insist they’re ‘calm’, as they believe there’s no evidence against him.
UOL also heard that “the player can’t be held responsible if third parties have done it”. That’s because the allegations say it’s people connected to him that made bets on three West Ham matches that he took part in, and if that happened, he believes it’s not his fault.
And once again, it’s recalled that Paquetá was really close to moving to Manchester City, and even if he believes he’s not guilty, he was ‘affected’ by the investigation.
That’s pretty much a view coming from the midfielder’s entourage, as the reports from England don’t seem so positive about it. The consequences are still expected to be serious in case the player is found guilty.
