West Ham United have somewhat turbocharged their transfer window in the past few days, working to get multiple deals over the line for Julen Lopetegui.
There are still other targets being worked on by the London club, and they’re in a number of transfer tussles. Sunday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport reports both Newcastle United and West Ham are in the picture to take Logan Costa from Toulouse.
Bologna are very keen on the 23-year-old central defender, but don’t want to pay the €15-18m which the French club are said to want right now.
Newcastle and West Ham surely wouldn’t have an issue with that figure if they believe Costa is the player they want. Sunday’s edition of Corriere di Bologna puts the price at €15m, they say the Serie A will ‘have to overcome competition from West Ham’, although there’s no mention of Newcastle in their report.
Elsewhere in Gazzetta dello Sport there’s a report on Jean-Clair Todibo and it’s insisted West Ham have ‘not given up’ on signing the Nice player.
The Italian newspaper again explain the defender wants to join Juventus and is pushing the Hammers away, but the Turin side haven’t got any closer to Nice’s demands than they were a few days ago.
Juve’s offer is a loan with a €30m purchase option which becomes compulsory if certain conditions are met. Nice just see that as a loan with an option and aren’t happy about it.
