We recently covered Calciomercato’s claim that West Ham were being asked a high fee by Toulouse for Logan Costa and that it was putting Bologna to pay more for the defender then they otherwise would have.
We felt that something about the situation was off and there is now more that adds fuels to that narrative. The Italian media seem to be pointing towards something similar, when it comes to both Newcastle and West Ham.
Corriere dello Sport state that after facing disappointment in their move for Mats Hummels, Bologna have continued their discussions with Toulouse for Logan Costa.
Having said that, it’s stated there is no longer any interest from West Ham or Newcastle United.
The report states that this means Toulouse can’t keep pushing the price higher with the threat of Premier League interest.
Toulouse want €15m for the 23-year-old but due to the fact that the English interest has turned into nothing, the deal with Bologna could potentially close for less.
As of now, the Rossoblu are offering €12m plus bonuses. With Toulouse now unable to ‘use’ any Premier League interest, the deal could close soon.
