Today there were claims in the Turkish media that West Ham United have stepped up their pursuit of Galatasaray attacker Barış Alper Yılmaz.
The 24-year-old was linked with a move to the Premier League during the last window after reports transfer talks had taken place in London with the player and his agent.
Earlier we covered reports that West Ham have tabled an offer of €25m, plus €5m in potential bonuses. This was reportedly rejected by Galatasaray as they are keen to keep hold of Yılmaz until the summer.
Cimbom are fighting on three fronts for silverware and want to keep their key players.
Turkish journalist İbrahim Seten has spoken about West Ham’s pursuit for Yılmaz, and he says the English club will have to increase their offer for the right winger.
Haber Sarikirmizi cover comments Seten has made with regards to Galatasaray’s stance, and he says the Super Lig giants are looking for €40m plus bonuses.
Again, he states Galatasaray aren’t interested in a deal in this window and it’s likely the Hammers will have to wait until the summer.
“West Ham United offered Galatasaray €25+5m for Baris Alper Yilmaz. Galatasaray want €40m plus a bonus for this transfer. West Ham want it at half-time (of the season), Galatasaray don’t want it right now,” said the journalist.
Yılmaz is contracted to the Istanbul side until June 2027.
