Serie A new boys Cagliari have come to an agreement with Juventus to sign Mauricio Isla, according to claims in the Italian media. The Chile international was expected to leave Juventus this summer, and was also been tracked by West Ham United.

Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio has confirmed Cagliari have agreed to pay Juventus €4.5m for Isla, and the player will soon sign a three contract with the Sardinian side.

The two Italian clubs have been locked in talks over the past week, and Isla missed yesterday’s game between West Ham and Juventus at the Olympic Stadium because he needed to travel to Cagliari to finalise the deal.

Isla will receive around €700k plus bonuses with his new club, and is expected to have his medical tomorrow.

This will come as a blow to not only West Ham, but also Watford who were both keen to sign the former QPR player this summer. Both Premier League sides were hoping to bring in the Chilean this summer to strengthen midfield, but he’s staying in Serie A.
