Last Friday, we relayed news from Italy that Torino have until June 1st to make West Ham United’s Nikola Vlašić loan deal permanent. He joined the Serie A side on a temporary deal with a €15m buying option last summer.
The attacking midfielder has struggled in recent weeks and his displays have raised concerns over his stay in Italy beyond this season. On Wednesday, Toro.it reported the 25-year-old is no longer ‘irreplaceable’ at Torino.
Now, according to Tuttosport, relayed by Toro News, the West Ham owned player’s asking price ‘has dropped’ from €15m to €13m.
Even though the small reduction should come as an encouragement for the Italian club, the report explains the new asking price is ‘still too high’ for them to buy the Croatia international in the summer due to his ‘latest disappointing performances’.
Torino also have Aleksei Miranchuk on loan from Atalanta and have an option to make his deal permanent for €12m.
According to Tuttosport, it seems ‘difficult’ for the Turin club to invest €25m to buy both players at the end of this season.
If true and with no further discount agreed by the Hammers, this certainly will be a blow to West Ham as Vlašić will have to return to the London club if Torino decide against buying him.
