‘If it were up to him…’ – West Ham man wants permanent Hammers exit, club ‘in no hurry’ to pull trigger

Nikola Vlasic would have had Torino activate the clause to sign him permanently from West Ham United already if the decision were his to make.

That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Toro News, who cover the player and how ‘if it were up to him’ the transfer would have already been sealed.

The newspaper explain how the Croatian is proving to be ‘an increasingly important player’ for the Italian side.

They’re very happy with his performances and he is likewise delighted with how things are going, so much so that if it were up to him, he would have activated the clause to make his move a permanent one.

That can be done for €15m as part of the agreement with West Ham, but Torino’s leadership are ‘in no hurry’ to accelerate the deal.

They don’t spend that kind of money freely and has only been spent three times during the 17 years of Urbano Cairo’s ownership of the club.

According to the newspaper, it has not been ruled out that Torino could ‘ask for a discount’ from West Ham in January in order to do a deal six months early.

For now, however, talks are postponed until after the World Cup but if Vlasic and coach Ivan Juric had the choice, the marriage would be firmed up sooner rather than later and continue.
