Nikola Vlasic has been labelled as a player who ‘dispenses magic’ as his loan spell at Torino from West Ham United continues to get better.
The Croatian midfielder joined the Italian side on loan from West Ham in the summer in search of regular playing time and the chance to get his career back on track.
He had been languishing somewhat at the London Stadium following a €30m move from CSKA Moscow in August last year.
Vlasic had been the star of the show with the Russian side but struggled to replicate that in England, eventually finding himself down the pecking order under David Moyes.
That’s not been the case at Torino, where he has been shining since day one and earning rave reviews from all who have watched him.
They say he has ‘made a comeback’ in Italy after a spell ‘in mothballs’ at West Ham, quickly getting up to pace in Italy’s top-flight, something he was unable to do in the Premier League.
It means he ‘often dispenses magic’, aided by the fact that Torino manager Ivan Juric ‘pampers him’ by using him in various positions as either a trequartista or a false nine.
It’s something that’s worked out, with his decision to depart the Hammers clearly a smart one.
