VfL Bochum have concerns about West Ham head of scouting Maximilian Hahn as he’s eyed for their vacant sporting director role.
That’s according to BILD, who report that the 29-year-old West Ham man is not the only candidate for the role. It was reported earlier this week that he was being considered. At that time it was felt he was close to an exit.
They explain that just a few days after being mentioned as a possible option for the club, there are now other names in the mix.
Bernd Korzynietz is the latest name being linked with the role. He currently works as a squad planner in Bayer Leverkusen’s youth department.
And according to BILD, he is among the preferred candidates ahead of Hahn. That’s because they’re concerned the West Ham man may be too young and inexperienced for the role. He is currently head of scouting at the London Stadium.
He’s been there since February last year. He was previously a scout at Werder Bremen and Darmstadt as well as other roles at both clubs. He also acted as a video analyst at Dynamo Dresden.
And it seems Bochum believe this is a lack of experience which might end up being a problem as they hunt for a new sporting director.
