Napoli are showing an interest in West Ham United youngster Soungoutou Magassa as they look to sign a midfielder in the January transfer window.
That’s according to journalist Niccolò Ceccarini on Tuttomercatoweb. He reports that the 22-year-old is on the list for the Italian champions.
He reports that Napoli’s main target for the January transfer window is to sign a midfielder. The main idea at present is to sign a ‘promising player’. But Antonio Conte’s side are open to any opportunity.
Manchester United Kobbie Mainoo is the main option they’re looking at. They’ve been working on a potential loan deal with an option to buy for several weeks. But he’s not the only Premier League player being looked at.
They are also interested in West Ham’s Magassa. He’s currently valued at €15m, so would be a low-cost option. He only joined the Hammers in the summer, in a €17m deal from Monaco. He’s a product of the Ligue 1’s youth system, playing in their youth, U19, B and senior side before his departure.
He’s only made eight appearances to date, starting four. He bagged his first goal for West Ham in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United earlier this week.
Perhaps it is that which has alerted Napoli, who now have him on their shortlist ahead of the January transfer window.
