West Ham United have set their sights on Feyenoord star Santiago Giménez to bolster their attacking division, according to 1908.nl.

David Moyes is left with Danny Ings and Michail Antonio as his two options up front after the Hammers sold Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta.

Antonio has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and this has seen West Ham look for a new striker in the market. This is where Giménez would fit in.

It’s claimed the Premier League side have ‘already made preparations to become more serious’ but haven’t taken concrete steps just yet to sign the 22-year-old.

The Mexico international starred for the Eredivisie side in their title winning campaign last season, managing 28 goals and three assists from 50 games. The website states he ‘can offer a solution’ to West Ham who are searching for a new No.9.

1908.nl add the Europa Conference League winners have requested information about the player with both Arne Slot’s side and his entourage.

His contract lasts until 2027 and it’s stated West Ham would find it difficult to carry out his signing. That’s because Feyenoord technical director Dennis te Kloese recently expressed his desire to retain Giménez.

“We have a long-term contract with him. I also honestly think, and I’ve known him for a long time, that it’s best for him, from my point of view, to gain experience here and play in the Champions League. In an ideal situation, Gimenez is a Feyenoord player,” he told ESPN.
