West Ham United have placed an ‘XXL offer’ to sign Georges Mikautadze from FC Metz, the French media says.

Le10Sport today writes that the Hammers placed a bid which is ‘much higher’ than the €20m that the Ligue 1 side had been demanding as a minimum amount for the move.

It’s said that West Ham’s offer is the best Metz have received so far, even though the London side are not expected to be alone in that race.

The likes of RC Lens and AS Monaco had already placed their bids, with the latter offering around €20m. Meanwhile, Lyon are said to be ‘preparing’ their attempt for the coming days, and they’d have the advantage that the player was born in the city, with it being ‘dear to his heart’.

Following the 14 goals scored for Metz this season, Mikautadze now has three goals and one assist for Georgia at the Euros so far. That’s why it’s no wonder many clubs who are looking for a centre-forward are now interested in him. And as West Ham’s bid seems enough for a deal, we’ll see how his club will react to that.
