West Ham United are one of the clubs in the picture to sign Vélez Sarsfield youngster Gianluca Prestianni, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
The 17-year-old came up through the ranks of Vélez Sarsfield’s youth system and made his way into their first team in 2022. He is on Italy’s radar as Roberto Mancini looks to include him in the national team squad.
As it stands, the Argentine cannot represent Italy as he doesn’t have an Italian passport. That could change in six months and he can then represent Azzurri. This has seen a few Serie A clubs take notice, while West Ham have also joined the chase for the forward.
There has been a mild interest from Fiorentina, while AC Milan and Napoli could make an attempt for the teenager in the coming weeks. Prestianni has a $12m release clause.
Meanwhile, Sevilla and Benfica have already tabled an offer of $8m plus bonuses to reach his $12m clause. Neither of these clubs are close to completing the deal.
With regards to West Ham, TMW explain the Hammers made contact to sign the teenager, without making it clear whether they approached him or Vélez Sarsfield.
At the moment, David Moyes’ side are behind other clubs in the chase for Prestianni since they are currently in the relegation zone and aren’t the most attractive destination at this moment in time.
