West Ham United are among a host of clubs interested in a move for Cagliari striker Giovanni Simeone this summer.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say the Argentine has been the ‘subject of many market sirens’ as his future at the club remains in doubt.
They explain that it’s uncertain whether Simeone will be staying with the Italian side this summer, and he has already received ‘a number of calls’ from Italy and beyond.
Torino, Sampdoria and Bologna are all keen, but there have also been ‘concrete moves’ from Marseille and West Ham, as well as some clubs in La Liga.
Simeone is currently waiting to ‘understand the intentions’ of Cagliari before making a decision about his future.
In the interim, he has flipped through the list of offers and ‘winked’ at those from abroad as he has a desire to test himself elsewhere after five years in Italy.
That means West Ham could have an advantage over the competition in the race to sign him, although the same does apply to Marseille.
There’s no mention of an asking price or the outline of a deal at the minute, but the interest is certainly there, and Simeone’s desire to play abroad might tempt the Hammers to push forward with a deal.
