West Ham United and Leicester City have become the latest clubs to enter the race for RC Lens’ Elye Wahi.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who say West Ham and Leicester have positioned themselves to sign the striker this summer.
The Ligue 1 side signed the 21-year-old from Montpellier in August 2023 and gave him a deal until 2028. He’s managed 12 goals and four assists from 36 games in all competitions.
Wahi’s future is likely to be far away from the French club and the report says both parties have agreed to part ways in this window. His future could be in England where West Ham and the Foxes are looking to secure his services.
Earlier this month, we covered claims from France that Chelsea are in the picture to sign him. L’Equipe back that up and add they are joined by both West Ham and Leicester in the transfer race.
It’s claimed the Premier League trio are ‘now negotiating’ to try and sign the frontman, and they are expected to table the first offer in the ‘next few hours’.
L’Equipe don’t specify the fee West Ham, Leicester and Chelsea are expected to table or Lens’ demands to sanction Wahi’s sale.
