West Ham United could find themselves drawn into the developing battle for Juventus youngster Matias Soulé, with Leicester City currently out in front.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it and Il Bianconero, who provide the latest update on the player as he finds himself in the middle of a developing battle for his signature.
CM.it kick things off and report that Soulé is at the centre of several transfer rumours at this moment in time after his impressive performances on loan at Frosinone last season.
Leicester’s interest has been known for some time and Roma have also moved in the last few days too, but according to the website’s own information, West Ham are also now in the mix.
They’ve made it clear they’re also ‘interested in the player’, although at present they appear a little behind the other two.
The belief, though, is that they are a club to keep an eye on as Juventus look at a potential sale and the prospect of bringing in as much as €35m for him.
If West Ham were to move, they’d have to convince the player to turn down Roma, who could ‘sweep away the competition in a heartbeat’ if they make a concrete move for the player.
Soulé, for his part, has made it clear that he wants a project that allows him to play and win trophies and the best sporting project will convince him.
Il Bianconero, meanwhile, report that the player’s agent Martin Guastadisegno, is holding constant summits and meetings about his client’s future.
Leicester are the team that are closest to him at this moment in time, not because they offer ‘great appeal’ but because they have taken the steps that other suitors have not. Juventus are interested in their offer but holding on to it, waiting to understand what Soulé wants.
The big competition for them are Roma, who are being ‘sly’ and moving behind the scenes, making it clear to the player that he could shine under Daniele de Rossi. They’re yet to make an offer but that could be forthcoming. There is no mention of West Ham here.
The player and his entourage will use this weekend as one for reflection, though, and perhaps to draw up more interest before an ‘appointment on Monday’ that might kick things off.
