West Ham United want to sign RCD Mallorca’s Kang-in Lee in the summer, according to Cadena Ser’s program, SER Deportivos, relayed by Estadio Deportivo.
Operating across all three positions up front and also as an attacking midfielder, he’s scored three goals and registered five assists from 28 league games this season.
The 22-year-old is attracting suitors as they are willing to bet on him due to his age and profile. The Spanish side are aware it’s ‘almost impossible’ to retain him next season due to interest he has from the Premier League.
West Ham are keen and they have ‘already conveyed’ their intention to pay for his transfer. The Hammers intend to activate his €18m release clause to secure the versatile player’s services in the summer.
It’s claimed David Moyes’ side have a firm desire to sign the South Korea international, so much so that they ‘will spare no expense’ to include him in their squad next season.
If Lee were to be sold in the next window, the report states it would be the ‘deal of the century’ since Mallorca took him for free in 2021. His sale will leave the Spanish club with a ‘historic amount’, which will then be invested to reshape their squad.
