West Ham United have identified Sassuolo’s Armand Laurienté as a target for the winter market, according to Area Napoli.

Last summer, the winger came close to completing a move to Sunderland before the transfer collapsed at the last minute.

Last week, Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali said they could sell Laurienté in January if there’s a convincing offer.

Napoli are looking for a new attacker in January, and the 27-year-old could be an option. He won’t be assured a starting place under Antonio Conte if he were to join the Naples club.

Area Napoli then cover West Ham’s interest in the Frenchman. It’s claimed Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have expressed their desire to secure his services via intermediaries.

Sassuolo are said to have set a €25m price and are open to a loan move, provided there’s a purchase obligation. He has over 18 months left on his contract and the Italian club have faced problems with his renewal.

Area Napoli claims this is a ‘challenging situation’ and ‘could benefit’ the Hammers as long as their convert their initial approach with entourage into something concrete in January.

Carnevali has indicated Laurienté could be sold and if West Ham are keen, they have to convince Sassuolo.
