West Ham United may have been handed their opportunity to finally get striker Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla, with the Spanish side ‘desperately looking’ to secure a sale.
That’s according to Mucho Deporte, who say Sevilla need an exit before Friday’s deadline to do their own business and En-Nesyri is part of the list of players who could move on.
He’s again found himself as the subject of interest this summer, specifically from West Ham, who have tried very hard to sign him over the last two years.
The Moroccan striker has rejected them on both occasions, but it was reported earlier this month that he was now more receptive to the idea than he once was.
There’s been little to no progress on the matter since then and Mucho Deporte do insist that for now ‘there on no movements’ when it comes to En-Nesyri.
However, they make it clear that Sevilla are ‘desperately looking for a sale’ before the end of the window as they need to make room in their salary cap to finish adding players to ‘shore up’ their squad.
They’re currently blocked from doing so but getting rid of a player like En-Nesyri, who is a big earner and can bring in a big sum, would help to unblock matters. They can’t do any business ‘unless there is a sale’.
That means there is a perfect opportunity in front of West Ham to make another bid and strike an agreement with Sevilla for a player they’ve long been after.
Sevilla certainly need the money and the Hammers have it to spend after selling Scamacca, so En-Nesyri may be a name to keep an eye on once again in the final hours of the window.
