Earlier this month, Corriere dello Sport reported West Ham United have shown ‘signs of interest’ in Salernitana’s Boulaye Dia.

The Serie A side took the striker on loan with an option to buy from Villarreal last summer. He has established himself as one of the star players of the club this season, bagging 15 goals and six assists from 32 games so far.

Calciomercato state the 26-year-old’s impressive form has made him popular in the Premier League, where West Ham are ‘in the front row’ to sign him in the summer.

Salernitana president Danilo Iervolino intends to exercise the €12m purchase option and then plans to sell him for at least €30m. That would make him the most profitable sale in the club’s history.

Apart from West Ham, AC Milan and Fiorentina are also named as the player’s suitors.

Milan have talked with Salernitana about the frontman but his price tag doesn’t suit them. Fiorentina, on the other hand, are ‘concretely thinking’ about Dia to play alongside Arthur Cabral.

Calciomercato state Salernitana will only part ways with Dia ‘under the right conditions’. Whether West Ham will be able to meet these conditions remains to be seen.
