West Ham United now have a personal agreement with Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus, according to the latest reports.
Sport1 journalist Patrick Berger claims that the Hammers found a deal for the player’s personal terms.
That’s a big step to sign the 23-year-old, since Brighton & Hove Albion had previously failed to convince him.
Now West Ham director Tim Steidten, who’s in the Netherlands, is said to be ‘pushing’ for the deal with Ajax, and in ‘direct talks’ as well.
According to Berger, the Hammers are currently preparing a £35m bid for the signing.
With previous reports claiming that the Eredivisie giants had been demanding Є40m for the transfer, West Ham’s offer seems enough for a deal, if the reports are to be believed.
Even though stories in the past few days claimed that Manchester City had also been interested in Kudus, these more recent reports haven’t been giving a single mention to Pep Guardiola’s side.
So everything points to West Ham standing quite close to the signing, and it should be no surprise if there’s an agreement in the coming days.
