On Sunday, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that Roma are waiting for the West Ham man’s definitive approval before making further advances. The two parties are close to an agreement for personal terms.
Roma pushing for West Ham star
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims the winger has already given his approval to the Giallorossi. They are now pushing to find an agreement with Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
The latest claims have talked about a release clause. Di Marzio dismisses that and insists the negotiations are ongoing, and AS Roma have to improve their initial offer of €46m.
These are ‘frantic hours’ for the Italian club, who are trying to complete the 24-year-old’s signing.
Dutch update on West Ham exit
Algemeen Dagblad picks up on that and claims both Gian Piero Gasperini and AS Roma have given a detailed plan of their project and his role in it.
This would have convinced the West Ham United player as AD claims he will sign a five-year contract and ‘collect a princely salary’. There’s no mention of any figure.
Gianluca Di Marzio states the Serie A side’s initial bid was €46m, while the newspaper claims the Hammers rejected a €40m bid. The Championship side are still aiming to earn €50m from his sale.
Roma aren’t giving up and are keen on signing Crysencio Summerville. At the weekend, they again knocked on West Ham’s door, without AD specifying a new bid.
Either way, the outlet insists there’s expectation that West Ham and Roma will reach an agreement.
