The claims of West Ham’s interest in Sporting midfielder Rodrigo Battaglia are starting to get a bit repetitive in the Portuguese press.

On Tuesday, as newspaper A Bola had a story on the player’s chances of going to the World Cup, they included a few paragraphs recalling that the Hammers are one of the clubs who could be taking him this summer.

Now the same outlet has another story about the Argentine midfielder today, and guess what: West Ham’s chase gets some attention again.

There’s no big news. The London side are said to be keen on signing Battaglia next summer, and for that to happen, the club have already prepared a €30m bid for him.

Despite saying that West Ham ‘expect’ to convince Sporting with that amount, A Bola can’t really state if the Lions would accept these figures or not. Battaglia is currently protected by a €60m release clause, and in January West Brom had a €20m bid for him rejected.
