Fenerbahce are in the market for a central defender and are targeting West Ham United’s Angelo Ogbonna, reports Turkish newspaper Takvim.
This summer Fener lost Martin Skrtel after his contract expired and they’re keen to replace him.
The Yellow Canaries have already strengthened their defence by signing Huddersfield Town’s Mathias Zanka but it’s been well documented in Turkey they are looking to sign another centre back before the Super Lig transfer window closes.
Takvim claim the West Ham United player is an option, and Fenerbahce’s sporting director Damien Comolli will fly to England next week to hold transfer talks with the Hammers.
Ogbonna could reportedly leave the Premier League club before the European transfer deadline and Takvim claim if West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini gives the green light, then it’s likely the player join Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
The 31 year old has been at West Ham since 2015 and he still has three years left on his current contract.
