The Spanish media today reports the big race there is to sign Real Betis fullback Juan Miranda this summer, and West Ham, Wolves, Crystal Palace and Brentford are said to be in the thick of it.
The 24-year-old is not expected to renew his contract with the La Liga side, and according to Estadio Deportivo, several Premier League clubs are interested in him.
Brentford, Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all said to be in the race, although it’s none of them that seem to be in pole position right now.
Estadio Deportivo claims FC Porto are the best placed to get Miranda, despite interest from their league rivals Benfica.
There are no details on why it’s the Dragons who stand closer to the player, as it doesn’t seem likely they’d be offering more money than Brentford, Crystal Palace, West Ham or Wolves could.
Miranda has had ups and downs at Betis this season, with 28 appearances, and it doesn’t look like the La Liga side are making huge efforts to keep him in the squad.
Being rewarded with a chance to play in the Premier League would undoubtedly be a great scenario for him, and he’ll surely be waiting to see if the offers from Brentford, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Wolves will arrive at his desk.
