West Ham United are showing an interest in Schalke’s Moussa Sylla as he impresses in the Bundesliga.
That’s according to Africa Foot, who report that Sylla’s performances in the 2. Bundesliga have led to interest from West Ham ahead of the summer.
The website explains that Sylla has continued to ‘ride the good momentum of last season’ with Schalke this season, with 13 goals and one assist in 20 games in all competitions putting him on the radar.
The Hammers ‘invite themselves on the file’ of the player as they are looking for offensive reinforcements for next season.
They’ve already made contact with Sylla’s entourage about a potential move but face competition. Bournemouth have already seen a €12m offer rejected.
Spanish club Getafe and two Italian teams, Inter Milan and Juventus, are also closely following the 25-year-old’s performances.
Sylla has a contract with Schalke until 2028, but it would be very difficult for them to keep hold of the forward given the interest in him. It seems they intend to make a big profit on the forward, though, after paying €2.5m to sign him in the summer.
West Ham are very much in the mix and seemingly ready to make their move, although the competition is likely to be fierce.
