West Ham United have contacted Girona full-back Arnau Martínez about a potential move this summer and made it clear they would like to sign him.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who report that the transfer sweet talking has already begun and a first offer from the Hammer could already be in.

The newspaper reports that, according to their information, Julen Lopetegui and West Ham want to go for Martínez this summer to play at right-back.

The player still hasn’t renewed his deal with Girona, which is set to expire in 2025, despite recently insisting that he is happy at the club.

He avoided talking about his future when asked, though, even claiming that he did not know anything about negotiations between his representatives and the Spanish club about a renewal.

That may be because of West Ham, who have already contacted the 21-year-old’s representative and ‘conveyed the confidence’ they have in him.

They’ve made it clear they want him, and an offer may already be on the table as Mundo report as much, stating there is every chance there is but the amount being offered has not been revealed.

That may be them guessing but there is interest from the Hammers, and he may be a name to keep an eye on moving forwards.
