Back last week, when the Brazilian media reported that Arsenal were making a bid for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo, it was claimed that West Ham are chasing the player as well.
Outlet R7 wrote that the Hammers ‘are interested’ in the 20-year-old, even though there had been no many details on their pursuit.
Now as Lance today features an update on this situation, West Ham are once again named as one of the main suitors for the signing, as they reportedly reached out to his entourage.
It’s said that the London side are ‘prepared’ to make an offer which could reach up to €25m once Palmeiras get ‘ready’ to negotiate the player.
This last part of the sentence is very important, as the Verdão are completely focused on the Clubs World Cup in February and are not expected to let any of their stars leave before that.
What West Ham should continue to be aware is of the competition from the Gunners, who besides offering a similar amount for the move when the time comes, are expected to add €5m in bonuses.
Danilo, who’s been showing great potential in Palmeiras’ last two Copa Libertadores title, is currently protected by a €100m release clause.
