Starting just a few days ago, the Felipe Anderson to West Ham transfer could be done very quickly if TuttoMercatoWeb are to be believed.

Gazzetta dello Sport were the first ones on the scene, claiming a €38m bid had been made by the Hammers for the Brazilian forward.

The same newspaper’s follow up story the next day claimed just €30m was being prepared, making us very skeptical of the whole thing but TuttoMercatoWeb appear to have cleared everything up.

According to them, Anderson is ‘very close’ to being shipped off to London in a deal that would cost €30m, but could easily get to €38m with bonuses.

West Ham are said to have offered him a contract of around €3.5m/year (which will be after tax), and a recent meeting between Kia Joorabchian and Claudio Lotito, Lazio’s owner, appears to have gone well enough for the green light to be given.

As things stand, this one appears to be going in the right direction, so West Ham fans, maybe you can get a little bit excited.

Not too excited, but maybe put some champagne in the fridge.

Just don’t get ahead of yourselves and drink it just yet. Things can always go wrong at the last minute.
