After being rejected by Carlos Bacca, West Ham have turned their attentions to another striker. They now apparently want to sign Éder, according to reports from Italy.

But that’s not the Portuguese Euro hero who has been in the news for the past week. The Hammers are after the Brazilian Éder, who is naturalised as an Italian and plays for Inter Milan. There’d be no issue with a work permit.

Monday’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport says that no bids have made so far, but they are expected to be arriving to Inter soon. Éder joined Roberto Mancini’s Inter side in January and scored only one goal in 15 matches during the second half of the season.

The Italian website Calcio Mercato Web says that Inter Milan would want at least €15m to go into negotiations about a sale. He was also linked to Leicester City earlier this year, and he may wish he’d taken that option instead of Inter.

Éder hasn’t had a good time at Inter so far, it’d be a surprise if West Ham were really keen.
