Eintracht Frankfurt taking 30,000 fans to the Camp Nou for their match against Barcelona continues to cause drama around the Catalan club. The German club beat Barca to make their way into the semi-finals of the Europa League, where they’ll be facing West Ham United.
Investigations have been launched at Barcelona, and there’s currently a blame game going on, as people try to pass responsibility elsewhere for the events. Fans are understandably furious and there’s a feeling the presence of so many away supporters contributed to the result.
West Ham clearly don’t want anything like this happening in London, so have made it clear only the 3000 Eintracht fans with official travelling tickets will be allowed to attend. Any who have bought tickets for other areas of the stadium will be ejected.
West Ham’s stance doesn’t seem surprising in the least, and they’ve probably decided to take an even stronger line after comments from Eintracht spokesperson Axel Hellmann, who said: “I don’t want to reveal any secrets, but our fans are very creative. Every effort will be made to get a significant ticket contingent. You can be 100 percent sure of that.”
