West Ham United are in the picture to sign AS Roma’s Roger Ibañez in the summer, as per Romagiallorossa.it.

The Serie A side have an urgent need to raise €30m before the end of this month to balance their books. They have identified a few players who can help them raise funds and Ibañez is among them.

When discussing the defender’s suitors, West Ham and Atlético Madrid are mentioned.

The Brazilian is a ‘sure starter’, meaning he will leave the Giallorossi in the next window. The Hammers and the La Liga side can take advantage of Roma’s urgent need to raise funds to sign the centre-back this month.

Romagiallorossa.it don’t specify the fee but earlier claims have stated José Mourinho’s side value the player around €35-40m. His sale can help Roma improve their situation.

West Ham’s interest in the South American isn’t new as back in March, Forza Roma stated they are ‘in line’ to acquire his services.

Ibañez was a regular for Roma last season, making 48 appearances.
