There’s a long list of clubs who’ve recently been linked to Argentine sensation Julian Alvarez. The River Plate forward has been impressing with his form lately and the hype for his signing next year has been huge.

Now even though the last English club to be mentioned in this race are Aston Villa, we can recall that back in July, West Ham United were said to be interested in his transfer as well.

A lot happened since then, as Alvarez already has 15 goals and six assists in 16 appearances in the Argentine league, having scored four times in River Plate’s last game.

And as El Intrasigente today writes about his future, they return to including the Hammers in the huge battle for the 21-year-old.

Their story is mainly to say that Borussia Dortmund joined the competition for the signing. Then they recall that other clubs such as Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Inter Milan, Fiorentina, Bayern Munich and West Ham had already taken their places in the chase for the player.

El Intransigente points out that Alvarez is protected by a release clause worth €20m, which can get to €25m at the end of the transfer window. They claim that River Plate want to make that much with his sale next summer, otherwise they won’t even consider the offers.
