West Ham United and Crystal Palace are among several European clubs keen on Genoa’s Koni De Winter, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

The centre-back joined the Serie A club on loan from Juventus in 2023 and they made his stay permanent a year later. His performances helped him make his debut for Belgium last year and also attracted several clubs.

TMW state that from the Premier League, West Ham and Crystal Palace have ‘explicitly expressed their interest’ in the 23-year-old.

As well as the two London clubs, Inter Milan are keen on De Winter as part of their plan to revamp their defence.

Benfica and FC Porto are clubs from Portugal looking at the Belgium international. The Eagles can make an official offer to Genoa if they were to sell Antonio Silva while Porto have asked about the economic conditions needed to sign him.

TMW say De Winter is valued at over €20m and they believe he’ll change clubs this summer. There’s no indication if West Ham or Crystal Palace are willing to make an offer.

Genoa sporting director Marco Ottolini has told TMW they’ve received approaches for De Winter, without revealing the details of the clubs involved.

“De Winter has grown a lot. He is becoming more and more aware, he is an international profile for physical, technical and mental qualities,” he said.

“Some requests for information are arriving, they had already arrived. At the moment there is nothing written, concrete or finalised. He is a player who has many requests.”
