Brazilian website Globo Esporte last night brought some updates on the race for Gabriel Barbosa.

According to the outlet, there are two clubs still fighting for the Inter Milan player: Flamengo and West Ham. Both are negotiating a loan deal with the Italian side.

Inter have no intention of adding Gabigol to their squad, and that’s why the player is still at Santos waiting for the club’s decision.

The Nerazzurri have a few demands to accept the loan, and West Ham seem to be fine with all of them, as they would be ready to pay a fee and cover 100% of his salary.

The Hammers, however, are struggling to get him a work permit with the FA, and that’s why things can’t move forward.

Meanwhile, Flamengo are negotiating some of the clauses, like paying all of his salary and letting him go in the summer in case a bid to Inter arrives. The latter one would exist because in case of a move to Brazil, the loan spell would be of one year.

Gabigol is said to be excited to play for Flamengo and to live in Rio de Janeiro, but can’t do much for now, as he just waits for Inter’s decision.

Globo Esporte says the Italian side are not in a hurry to get the deal done, although both Flamengo and West Ham want it as soon as possible.
