West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United are both following Istanbul Basaksehir fullback Júnior Caiçara. After initial claims from an English newspaper, a source close to the situation has informed Sport Witness the interest is genuine.

Both Premier League clubs have been following the player this season and have already spoken to his staff regarding the possibility of making a move for him this summer.

Júnior Caiçara’s contract with Basaksehir expires in 2021. That’s why the Turkish side plan to either renew his contract or sell him now, avoiding the risk of losing him for free next year.

The player is currently on vacation and is set to return to his club on Friday. That’s when he’ll speak about the situation, and the offers should finally come. Besides West Brom and West Ham, the Brazilian has attracted interest from Real Bétis and Zenit.

Caiçara is already 31 years of age, but his representatives believe he could still get a move to a top league due to his consistency. He made 44 appearances last season, and helped the club to win the Turkish league title.

Due to his contract situation, Basaksehir are demanding just over €3m for his transfer. Since he has Bulgarian nationality, his European passport makes things easier for a Premier League move.
