Hardly a regular for Celta Vigo these days, the future of Okay Yokuşlu has been questioned this month.
Claims in England that West Bromwich Albion were interested have been circulating, but the local Spanish press have quickly jumped to dispel these.
Faro de Vigo are the ones doing so, making it very clear in their first line that ‘Okay Yokuşlu will not go on loan in this winter market’.
It’s explained the Spanish side have received ‘three or four offers’ for temporary deals, but Celta won’t be looking at them.
Yokuşlu ‘will not move from Vigo unless an economic offers appears that interests’ the La Liga team, but that isn’t expected to happen in today’s financial climate.
They go as far as stating the interest from West Brom ‘will not find an affirmative answer’ from their counterparts, and they ‘consider it necessary to continue counting on’ the Turkish player, meaning they ‘would only be willing to study a purchase offer’.
Despite being relegated to a rotation option due to Renato Tapia’s great form, Yokuşlu remains ‘an important piece in the squad’.
The midfielder has only started three league games from a possible 17, coming off the bench more often than not.
