According to a claim in the Swedish media, West Bromwich Albion are showing interest in Djurgårdens IF midfielder Besard Sabovic.
The Baggies recently sold Okay Yokuşlu to Trabzonspor and will be looking to replace the Turkish midfielder in this transfer window.
Expressen report on West Brom’s interest in the North Macedonian and they say the Championship side have tabled an offer for the 24-year-old. Djurgårdens IF sporting director Bosse Andersson is reportedly not keen to sell Sabovic halfway through the Swedish domestic season, but his contract situation is a worry for the club.
Sabovic has just six months left on his contract and his situation has alerted several European clubs, including West Brom. Andersson is said to be in negotiations with the midfielder to extend his contract and developments are expected to happen in the coming weeks.
The defensive midfielder has started 11 league games for his club this season and has three assists. He’s represented North Macedonian on three occasions since making his debut in 2019. Sabovic has played for Sweden at youth level.
