In an update from the Turkish media, it’s reported West Bromwich Albion midfielder Okay Yokuşlu is now on the verge signing for Trabzonspor.
The Turkey international has been linked with a return to his former club and the player has touched down in his home country.
Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has reported Yokuşlu has now landed at Istanbul airport ahead of his proposed transfer to Trabzonspor. Sabuncuoglu has posted a picture (which you can see below) on social media of the West Brom player arriving in the Turkish city.
A few days ago we covered reports from Turkey that there had been a breakthrough in transfer talks between the two clubs. Personal terms with the central midfielder had reportedly been agreed weeks ago, but the transfer fee was proving to be the issue.
It was claimed other clubs were in the running to sign the 30-year-old, but the chance of a move back to Trabzonspor has proved too tempting for the player.
Yokuşlu made 18 appearances for West Brom last season and is contracted to the Baggies until June 2025.
