Despite starting two of West Brom’s first three league games of the season and picking up an assist, Allan Nyom was allowed to leave the Hawthorns this summer, albeit just temporarily.

Sent to CD Leganes in La Liga, the Cameroon international was on the bench against Athletic Bilbao on Monday evening, which his new club lost 2-1.

Speaking to the media since then, Nyom opened up about his return to Spain, where he spent six years on two three year loans at Granada from Udinese between 2009-2015.

He said, relayed by Mundo Deportivo: “I’m very happy to be here. When they told me about the opportunity of signing for Leganes, I was delighted. They’ve treated me well. My teammates are very nice. There’s a good group and I’m sure we’ll have a great campaign”.

The 30-year-old also stated it was a ‘dream’ to be back in La Liga, which he described as ‘equal to the Premier League’.

During his time at West Brom, the right-back made 67 appearances in all competitions, picking up four assists, but was unable to stop the Baggies from getting relegated to the Championship last season.

He signed from Watford in 2016 for a fee of just over £4m.
