Let’s be honest, Aston Villa’s promotion bid isn’t going to plan.
Relegated to the Championship and changing owners, the Villains are already 16 points behind leaders Newcastle after 15 games, and things don’t look like they’re about to turn around just yet.
But, who knows, maybe an extra striker could help?
That is, at least, what DH in Belgium reckon on Thursday, reporting that the Midlands club will send a scout to Anderlecht to watch Lukasz Teodorczyk against FSV Mainz in the Europa League.
The Polish striker has been in prolific form for the Belgian club, currently loaned to them by Dynamo Kyiv, and he’s attracted a lot of attention.
Tony Pulis’ West Brom are also expected to be there, and few things would make the Baggies happier than snatching a player right from under their rivals’ noses.
Of course, these two sides aren’t the only ones from England expected to be present, as Everton, Sunderland and West Ham are all reported to be sending representatives to the game.
Furthermore, teams like Dortmund, AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen will also have people keeping an eye on the 25-year-old.
Teodorczyk has scored 13 goals in 18 appearances for Anderlecht so far this season, a return both Villa and West Brom would love one of their strikers to have at this point in the campaign.
DH reckon a bid of around €13m, could do the trick, once the Belgian side make the move for the Poland international permanent for around €3m.
