Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has heaped praise on Ivory Coast teammate Yan Diomande, who is being linked with a move to Old Trafford.
RFI cover comments from the Manchester United player today. He’s been the star man for the Ivory Coast at AFCON so far, with three man of the match awards in four games to date.
He’s enjoying his time at the tournament, with a goal and assist added to his tally in the recent 3-0 win over Burkina Faso.
The winger is also the man everyone wants to speak to at this moment in time. That’s why Ivory Coast selected Amad Diallo for their latest press conference in Marrakech. He was asked about various topics during the presser, including playing alongside RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande.
He is one of the rising stars in Europe at this moment in time. Alongside impressing for the German side, he’s also now making waves at AFCON. That’s likely to ramp up interest in him, with Manchester United one of those already named as admirers.
There’s even been talk of a potential €90m offer from Old Trafford.
Amad close to Manchester United target
Amad Diallo is currently playing alongside Diomande on the Ivory Coast’s wings, and it’s clear that he’s a fan of the 19-year-old.
“Our game is first and foremost about fighting,” he said.
“Everyone tries to contribute to the team, and then we have this understanding on the pitch. We’re also very close off the pitch, so that makes things easier on the pitch. And we’re selfless: we don’t play for ourselves, nobody tries to be man of the match.
“If I have the opportunity to pass to him, I pass to him; if he has the opportunity to pass to me, he passes to me. That’s what a great nation, a great team, is all about. You have to move forward together to win this competition.
“It’s not enough to have one player; you need eleven on the pitch, and that’s what we’re trying to do. Yan is a very good player, everyone knows that. But it’s not just Yan Diomande; there’s also Bazoumana, who scored today, and Oumar Diakité. Everyone is doing their part, and for the moment, it’s working perfectly.”
