Ricardo Pereira looks set to be a star of the summer window, after having several links during the last one too.

The FC Porto fullback was linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur last summer and despite the club signing Serge Aurier from PSG, the Spurs links have continued up to the present day.

Everton and other Premier League clubs have also been linked recently, but the strongest route appears to be Leicester City.

Portuguese newspapers have been pushing it strongly, and whilst the country’s media can get a little carried away on transfers, Sport Witness was able to recently confirm there’s been an approach from the Foxes, although no offer has yet been made.

Speaking to RMC at the end of last week about a potential move to Leicester, Pereira made it clear he’s willing to listen, and certainly sounds attracted by a move to the Premier League.

Playing for Claude Puel whilst on loan at Nice, Pereira would have the chance to link up with his former manager.

RMC quote the player as saying: “On that, I don’t know, we see that in the press, but I do not want to know that, I want to be a champion and afterwards, if it’s true, we’ll talk about it. He (Claude Puel) gave me the confidence. The first year, I did not play here in Porto. He helped me to play my game and come back here to do my best The Premier League – I think everyone likes it – it’s the best-known championship.”
