Real Oviedo sporting director Roberto Suárez has admitted Arsenal are assessing Marcelo Flores’ situation at the club as he struggles on loan in Spain.
Flores has been on loan with the Spanish side since the summer, heading out to get regular playing time that wasn’t on offer at the Emirates.
That hasn’t proven to be the case, though, with him managing just 12 appearances in LaLiga 2 this season and featuring in just 25% of the available minutes.
That’s a less than ideal situation for the Arsenal youngster, who would have wanted to establish himself as a regular in Spain this season to continue his development.
It means questions have to be asked by Arsenal this month, with the option to bring the 19-year-old back and potentially send him somewhere he will be certain of playing time.
That is a decision the Gunners are making, with Suárez admitting they are analysing the situation with Flores before the end of the month.
“There are players who have told us about their situation, and we have explained our feelings,” COPE report him saying.
“Marcelo Flores? The manager is happy, but Arsenal also have to assess whether the situation he is in is good for him and for the club. Once it’s over, we’ll see what happens with him.”
