Marc Cururella’s first season at Brighton & Hove Albion left a good impression in Spain, where they now highlight the fullback’s form in the Premier League.

So as the player was interviewed by Esport3, he not only talked about his fast adaptation to English football, but also about the rumours which are already linking him to other clubs.

It’s Mundo Deportivo who cover the quotes, pointing out the stories which say Manchester City have been chasing him. The 23-year-old, however, claims to be very calm about his situation.

“It’s good that they talk about me, this means that I’ve done things well and it motivates me to continue working. Yes, I have received news and I like to read it, even if it is only out of curiosity. Many times they are just rumours that do not end in anything. We’ll see what happens,” he said.

The player has actually only talked about another potential move in his future. That’s a potential return to Barcelona, the club who he belonged to between 2012 and 2020, despite only making one official appearance for them.

“I spent many years at the academy, I came to Barça B and I had a few minutes in the cup, but I was stuck with not being able to play at the Camp Nou. I would very much like to be able to return one day, really.”

Regarding his first season with Brighton, Cucurella explained he’s satisfied about it, saying he’s happy at having chosen the Seagulls last summer.

“I’m very happy with the season I’ve had. I think it’s been the year of my maturation as a footballer, where all the work of recent years has been seen. When I signed for Brighton I knew it was a good opportunity and at the moment I’m taking advantage.”
