Wilson Odobert arrived at Tottenham Hotspur from Burnley last summer and made five appearances for the Premier League side.
The winger suffered a hamstring injury in September and returned a month later, only to suffer another setback in Spurs’ Europa League win over AZ Alkmaar. He underwent surgery in November and has been on the sidelines since then.
Odobert is one of Tottenham’s long-term absentees and there’s positive news on return from injury.
L’Equipe provides the latest as they state the 20-year-old is expected to return to training at the ‘start of February’. In fact, they say he could ‘resume on-field sessions’ by February 4th.
This is certainly good news for Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham, who are in the midst of an injury crisis.
The France U21 international hasn’t scored or registered an assist for Tottenham but had a good start at the club. Therefore, L’Equipe claim Spurs, ‘who are going through a very complicated winter sportingly, should welcome him with joy.’
Despite the Frenchman expecting to return to training in the coming days, the newspaper insists he may have to wait until March to play for Tottenham. Odobert will be eager to put the injury concern behind him.
